PRESS RELEASE:   MICHAEL FOREVER:  SEPTEMBER 29th 2011

The projected audience for this concert just went through the Millennium Stadium’s roof...

MICHAEL FOREVER  TRIBUTE TO BE LIVE ON FACEBOOK

Now Social Networking means Social Concert-Going too

MICHAEL FOREVER, the massive Michael Jackson tribute concert taking place at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff on October 8th, will be the first ever, live GLOBAL, Pay-Per-View concert in the history of entertainment.

Behind the project, along with the concert’s promoter GLOBAL LIVE EVENTS (GLE), are the British company FANETWORK, and, from California,  MILYONI (“Million Eye”) the leading exponent of “f-commerce”, connecting and engaging with Facebook fans, and turning them into customers.

Potentially all 800 million Facebook subscribers worldwide will have the ability to watch the incredible line-up of international talent performing as it happens, thanks to the latest real-time technology. Michael Jackson fans on Facebook around the world will be able to experience the concert while interacting with friends and family, all within the world famous website. Milyoni’s technology provides a unique level of social interaction by allowing participants to “like”, comment, chat and share the experience with fellow fans online, as if they were actually there, in the magnificent Millennium Stadium, together.

The show is being hosted by Oscar-winner star of “Ray”, Jamie Foxx and Britain’s Fearne Cotton.  Members of Michael Jackson’s  immediate family will be playing key roles, including his mother Katherine, along with world megastars including Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, The Black Eyed Peas, Jennifer Hudson, Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson, Leona Lewis and many more.

“The ability to broadcast concerts into every corner of the globe and connect directly with fans through Facebook is the most significant opportunity that can happen within the entertainment industry today,” said Charlie Stuart Gay, President of fanetwork. “We are fortunate that technology can complement the producers and artists to pay tribute in a manner that is as utterly unique as the legend that will forever remain ‘The King of Pop.’”

It being 2011, all the performers naturally have their own registered fanbases documented, as well knowing their precise Twitter following, which is enough to give some idea of how many people might end up watching all or part of the programme.  The Black Eyed Peas boast a fanbase of over 24 million, with over 3 million people following them on Twitter.  Beyoncé trumps that, with figures of 28 million and 4 million respectively. By contrast, the maximum capacity at the Millennium Stadium is around 75,000.

“This really takes this concert into a new dimension: somewhere we haven’t been before, even with Live Aid and Live8” commented Chris Hunt, CEO of  GLE, who has been putting together the show with the support and encouragement of the Jackson family. “Without Facebook’s involvement it was still set to be a huge and unforgettable event, but with the potential global audience now running into the hundreds of millions, I think we’re quite justified in using the word “phenomenon”. It’s beyond words, and it’s happening here, for us and for Michael, first. It’s a fittingly ground-breaking tribute to a man who changed the face of pop music forever.”

Fans around the world will be able watch the star-studded Michael Forever Tribute Concert by using one of two global currencies, Facebook Credits or PayPal and its credit card facility. Viewers can RSVP to the concert or purchase access to the live broadcast in advance of October 8th  for $3.99 or 40 Facebook Credits , or on the day of the event for $4.99 or 50 Facebook Credits  at https://apps.facebook.com/M4Tribute

MICHAEL FOREVER is an amazing show which has been created to reflect a uniquely multi-talented artist. It brings together Michael Jackson’s friends, his family, including his mother and his children, in one incredible evening.

Other acts confirmed for the night include Cee Lo Green, Alexandra Burke , JLS and Diversity.  Ne-Yo, Pixie Lott, Alien Ant Farm and Craig David have also signed up, as well as the next generation of Jacksons, International multi-platinum recording artists, 3T. ..and it’s a list growing by the day.
